ThyssenKrupp Mineral Processing

ThyssenKrupp Mineral Processing - a complete range of equipment and systems for crushing, screening, grinding, drying, filtering and separation - all from one source.

Feeders and Screens:

Crushing plants can only achieve high throughputs if they are combined with reliable feeding, discharge and separating systems such as apron feeders, chain conveyors, reciprocating plate feeders/vibro separators and grizzly feeders including classifying screens, magnetic separators and belt conveyors.

The ThyssenKrupp screening program covers the most widely varying sizes and models for optimum matching to the material to be screened.  Depending upon the requirements, the screen can have linear or circular oscillation or can be the eccentric-shaft type.  For extra-fine screening, screens with a directly driven screen wire cloth are used. Wobbler feeders are used to classify materials that prove difficult to screen.  Depending upon the fractioning, wobbler feeders with extreme high throughputs have a great advantage in having no vibrating mass.  Heavy-duty apron feeders are used as feed and discharge conveyors in crushing plants to convey coarse and abrasive materials such as limestone, hard rock, coal, ores and overburden.  Magnetic separators create strong magnetic fields to separate ferrous metals out of rock, rubble material and concrete while the material is passing over a feed or discharge conveyor.

Crushers:

Mobile, semi-mobile and stationary ThyssenKrupp crushing plants are in operation all around the world. Mobile crushing plants are built ready-mounted on their own travel gear.  Semi-mobile crushing plants are moved from one location to the next as a piggyback load on separate haul units.  It was ThyssenKrupp that pioneered mobile crushing plants, thereby making it possible to crush minerals directly at the site of extraction and synchronize to the rate of mining advance, into sizes ready for conveyor transport.  Semi-mobile crushing plants are always to be recommended when there are long periods between changes of location. Each crushing plant comes ready to operate with its own feed hopper, feed conveyor, discharge conveyor and material transfer belt.  The size and design of the crusher naturally depends upon the work that it is intended for.

Each raw material to be crushed has its own specific features. Its nature and desired final shape, the size of the final product and the expected capacity of the plant all have to be borne in mind in the selection of a suitable crusher. Krupp offers a wide range of crushers for an optimum solution:

ThyssenKrupp gyratory crushers are real state-of-the-art technology and have been designed for high throughputs and economical operation. They are used mainly as primary crushers in ore mines, quarries, limestone and cement works.

ThyssenKrupp hammer crushers were developed for the crushing of coarse, medium-hard materials for the cement, gypsum and limestone industries. They are available as hammer impact crushers, single-shaft hammer crushers and double-shaft hammer crushers. Hammer mills, on the other hand, are especially suited to fine reduction, grinding, homogenizing, fiberizing and selective crushing of natural and industrial products.

Impact crushers have been designed to cover the whole range from coarse to fine reduction. They handle hard and medium-hard material, and are used especially in those applications where a high degree of reduction and a cubic, stress-free final product is called for; e.g. in the handling of coal, potash, limestone, gypsum, slag, overburden, rubble material and asphalt.

ThyssenKrupp double-roll crushers are specialized machines for medium-strength, highly sticky materials such as limestone, marl and contaminated clay but also for coal, oil sands and overburden. On the other hand, roll mills are used for fine reduction processes with a low content of fines and for all materials even up to corundum.

The ThyssenKrupp roll sizer is capable of crushing hard rock with a compressive strength of up to 300 Mpa as well as sticky, soft and medium-hard material, such as limestone, marl, clay, coal and similar raw materials. The material is crushed by shear and tensile forces generated by high torques at a low cicumferential speed
